I act as a liaison, and consult to help both the school district special education professionals, and parents of special needs children, to provide the best customized education to fit the child’s specific needs. I have 16 years of experience in working with the school districts creating and reviewing IEP’s (Individual Education Plans), goals, documents, Triennial IEP documents, psychological evaluations, educational assessments, medical reports, because of my son’s needs. As I am the parent of a special needs child I am specifically equipped to help the parents and the special education professionals to work together to create and deliver the best educational plan for your child.
Background on Angie, Bachelor of Science (State University of New York (SUNY), Master’s in Arts and MBA from Webster University, Geneva, Switzerland. I have 16 years of experience working with the school districts and special educational professionals pulling the pieces together from jointly defining your child’s IEP Goals, to finding the right doctor/specialist, knowing the special programs the schools offer, and also helping the parent as to what can be done at home to help augment what is being done at school.
Have been giving advise and helping parents for years addressing the needs and issues to help accomplish the goals for your special child. Tyler and I presented to the Master’s Program for Special Needs Education at CAL State San Marcos. It was the first time ever that the students had met a parent and special needs child. We put alot of things into perspective for the class! We gave the class a new level of empathy, compassion and sensitivity. These special needs teachers/profesisonals and principals, have the most amazing and tough job!
